Raw Currant Jam Ingredients
- Fresh currant 1 kilogram
- Sugar 1.5-2 kilograms

Cooking raw currant jam:
Step 1: prepare the currant.
First of all, pour currants into a medium bowl and, if necessary, clean them from twigs, leaves, and also throw out the spoiled berries. Now gently but thoroughly rinse the component under running water and put it on a cloth or kitchen paper towel. Leave the currant aside for a while to dry.
Step 2: prepare raw currant jam.
Using a blender or meat grinder, grind the currants to a state of homogeneous mass. Attention: when using the first inventory, we grind the berries in turbo mode.
Then pour the component into a deep bowl and cover with sugar. Using a kitchen spoon, mix everything thoroughly until smooth and we can proceed with the packaging of the jam. Attention: so that other food or insects do not get into the container, cover it with baking paper and fix it along the edge with ordinary clothespins.
Now we pour ordinary cold water into a clean pan and put on medium heat. Meanwhile, thoroughly rinse the jar with a kitchen sponge using a detergent. When the contents of the container begin to boil, reduce the heat, and gently spread the sieve on top. Important: diagonally, it should be no less than the rim of the pan, so as not to come into contact with the liquid. Carefully put the glass jar upside down here and sterilize it for 15 minutes.
After the allotted time, using kitchen tack, remove the container and lay it on a clean cloth towel. Immediately after that we throw the lid into boiling water and sterilize it for the same number of minutes. Then we get it from there with the help of kitchen tongs and put it next to the jar.
Gently pour the jam into a sterile container and tightly close the lid. Important: I usually don’t use a can key, as the dish is kept in the refrigerator. It is enough to use a screw cap. When the jam cools down, put it in a cool place, such as a cellar or refrigerator. It is stored all winter and, most importantly, does not wander!
Step 3: serve raw currant jam.
When the time comes, we take a jar of jam from the refrigerator, unscrew the lid and use a clean tablespoon to spread the dish in a deep bowl. Serve to the dessert table with tea, coffee, as well as slices of bread, anointed with butter.
