Cooking tangerines in chocolate:
Step 1: prepare the tangerines.
Tangerines need to be thoroughly washed, but they do not need to be peeled.
Cut the tangerines into 4 parts if they are small, and into 6 parts if they are large so that all the slices are approximately the same size.
Step 2: sugar the tangerines.
Put the tangerines in a pan and fill them with water, add a quarter (130 grams) sugar and put on fire. Bring to a boil, and then boil for 5-6 minutes.
Remove the tangerines in syrup from the heat, close the lid and leave it on 1 day.
The next day, add another quarter of sugar and boil the tangerine slices again for 5-6 minutes.
Put the fruit to cool, and then repeat this whole step two more times from the beginning until you have consumed all the sugar needed for cooking.
Total boil tangerines in syrup need four times.
Step 3: Dry the tangerines.
Cool the tangerines in syrup completely, and then transfer them to the wire rack with a slotted spoon to allow excess liquid to drain. Leave the fruit in that condition for another 1 day.
Step 4: Cover the tangerines with chocolate.
The dried candied slices of tangerine now can only be covered with chocolate. It is proposed to use bitter and white chocolate, since not everyone likes bitter.
Melt the chocolate in a water bath or microwave. If you are heating in a microwave oven, make sure that nothing starts to burn.
Paste mandarin slices with a toothpick and dip them in chocolate, and then send them to parchment for baking, your candies will not stick to it.
You can sprinkle crushed peanuts or other nuts on top, but this is strictly optional.
All that remains is to wait until the chocolate hardens. Remove your tangerines in chocolate from parchment and serve for tea.
Step 5: Serve the tangerines in chocolate.
Chocolate tangerines can be served with tea or, wrapped sweets in a wrapper, to take with you as a gift. Very tasty and sweet treat made by yourself.
Enjoy your meal!
- From the remaining syrup you can make a tasty tangerine liquor by simply diluting it with a small amount of water and alcohol.
