Ingredients for cooking carp in tomato sauce
- Carp 4 pieces (large)
- Canned tomatoes in their own juice 1 jar (400 grams)
- Carrot 1 piece (large)
- Onion 1 piece
- Garlic 4-5 cloves
- Dried thyme 4 sprigs
- Bay leaf 2 pieces
- Vegetable oil 4-6 tablespoons
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste

One large or several small baking tins, frying pan, spatula, kitchen knife, cutting board, grater.
Cooking carp in tomato sauce:
Step 1: fry the onions with carrots.
Peel the onion and cut into small cubes. Rinse the carrots, peel and grate on a medium grater.
Heat in a pan 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil, add onion to it, lightly fry, and then let the carrots here. Simmer all together for 2-3 minutes.
Then pour 1/2 cup water and simmer until all the liquid has evaporated.
Step 2: prepare the sauce.
Add tomatoes, tinned into small pieces, canned in their own juice, to the pan for onions and carrots (add together with the juice). Season with salt and pepper, nestle bay leaf and simmer the sauce for 5 minutes after boiling.
Cool the sauce at room temperature for 5 minutesand then remove the bay leaf from it.
Step 3: fry the carp.
Rinse and dry the carp pieces with paper towels. Rub with salt and pepper on all sides.
Preheat in a clean pan 2-3 tablespoons oil and put in it pieces of carp skin down.
Fry the carp until golden brown on both sides and remove from heat.
Step 4: bake carp in tomato sauce.
Arrange the sauce in separate tins, and on top of it are slices of fried carp, dried thyme and coarsely chopped garlic cloves. You can do the same thing in one big form.
Bake carp in tomato sauce in preheated 170-180 degrees oven for 30-35 minutes.
Remove the finished fish and cool slightly before serving.
Step 5: serve the carp in tomato sauce.
Carp in tomato sauce is a delicious hot dish that can even be served without a side dish, just with bread. Tasty, aromatic and satisfying enough.
