Cooking salted herring with onions:

Step 1: peel and salt the herring.

First, freshly frozen herring must be cleaned of the insides and washed thoroughly from the inside and out.
Then you need to clean the fish from skin, fins and bones, so that a clean fillet remains.
The fillet must be dried with paper towels and cut into portions.
Then put the prepared herring fillet in a jar, dissolve in 900 milliliters cold water 2 tablespoons salt and 1 tablespoon sugar and pour this brine into fish. All slices of fillet should be covered with brine.
Close the jar and refrigerate one knocks.

Step 2: prepare the onion.

When the fish is salted, prepare the onion, peeling it from the husk and cutting into rings or half rings.

Step 3: pickle a salted herring with onions.

Drain the brine from the herring and place it in a clean jar, alternating layers of fish with onions.
When the container is full, dilute the vinegar essence in 100 milliliters water and pour it to herring with onions.
Pour vegetable oil on top.

At first it will seem that the marinade is small, but over time, fish and onions will give juice that will fill the container. Therefore, immediately after placing all the ingredients in a jar or container, close the container and send the herring to marinate in the refrigerator for another one day.
Sometimes get a container of fish and shake it to mix the marinade.

Step 4: serve the salted herring with onions.

Serve salty herring with onions as a cold appetizer with a slice of bread or with strong drinks. Such a fish is good for any holiday table, and what salads are obtained with it! Real jam!
Enjoy your meal!

Recipe Tips:

- You can add mustard seeds, peppercorns and bay leaves to the marinade. This is to taste and desire, if you want herring to be more spicy.
